I created this arrangement as part of a project with SPU’s Response Magazine, and as I was combing through old photos this morning, it dawned on me that I designed this exactly one year from today. We were just turning in the paperwork to make our first home-purchase official, and I clipped the bleeding heart, cherry blossoms, and rhododendron from our new yard on one of our visits. It was actually taken in a dark corner of our old apartment bedroom with boxes piled all around, and it makes me miss the drama of that rich wall color. Our new house is all white and very bright, which most days I love. But then I see a photo like this and want to make an impulse run to Benjamin Moore.
