happy holidays chickens!

Have you ever seen the movie ‘Grey Gardens’? The documentary features a mother and daughter (both named Edith Beale) who are reclusive socialites and live out their somewhat odd lives in a decrepit mansion. (The mom is the aunt of Jackie Kennedy Onassis…ring any bells?) Anyway, if you haven’t seen it, it’s worth watching. Lately I’ve been stealing lines from the movie, refering to my husband as “Chicken.” I mean it as a term of endearment, but it’s not really a huge hit with him. Why do I tell you this? Because in order to use it in the title of this blog post, I had to give you some background info. And I wanted to use it in the title. That’s all.

On other note, look at this photo. That’s me! Maybe one day they’ll(?) see this and say… “She was an artist from the day she was born! And a true fashionista at that!” (As the photo clearly demonstrates.) Those were the glory days…

Anyway, I’m taking a bit of a break until the new year, but before I go I want to wish you a very merry Christmas, a happy Chanukah (quite late), and a happy new year! See you in 2011!

(And Lauren, how about if I just send you a photo of my Christmas tree? I’m pretty sure the blogs have been featuring their fair share of trees, and I’m sure nobody cares to see another. It’s not themed… just good ol’ fashion white lights and an assortment of ornaments collected over the years is how we roll in the Powell household. It looks NOTHING like a Nordstrom tree… I love it.)
